The Las Vegas car scene got a big boost as Sung Kang rolled into DRVN AFTR DRK for a night full of high-octane power, rare cars, and a first look at his upcoming film, Drifter.
Sung Kang Brings Drifter Energy to the Las Vegas Car Scene
Fast & Furious star Sung Kang hosted a special event in collaboration with DRVN AFTR DRK on Sunday, April 19, at The Portal inside Area15 in Las Vegas to promote his upcoming film, Drifter.
The low rumble of a red AE86 Toyota Corolla filled the air as Sung Kang slowly drove into the packed venue, drawing crowds and flashing cameras.

Once he parked the iconic car himself, he stepped out into a surge of cheers, meeting fans face to face with a huge welcome.

Sung Kang also brought out two special “Lola” builds, short for Corolla, giving fans a rare chance to get up close and personal with the Toyota AE86s tied directly to the movie.
Drifter is an independent film directed by, produced by, and starring Sung Kang, best known for his role as Han in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
The story follows a lonely racetrack janitor in Barstow, California, who is dealing with debt and a difficult past.

He discovers a natural talent for drifting and gets a chance to compete, but soon learns that success in the sport requires trust, teamwork, and connection with others.
The film focuses on real car culture and real driving, using practical scenes instead of heavy visual effects.

Kang chose to take the independent route rather than work with a major studio, so he could stay true to the roots of car culture. He sourced cars, parts, and even cast members directly from within the automotive scene.
The film features authentic drift cars and includes cameos from well-known figures in the car community like Adam LZ and James Pumphrey.

During the event, Kang premiered a special trailer for the audience before hosting a live Q&A session. Fans asked about his experience filming Tokyo Drift, advice for beginner drifters, and his personal connection to Las Vegas.
Kang shared that his mother once worked at Caesars Palace and that he attended Bonanza High School, giving the night a deeper local connection to Sin City.
The evening wrapped up with a meet-and-greet where fans had the chance to take photos and interact with him directly.
Inside DRVN Social and the Energy of DRVN AFTR DRK
DRVN Social is a Las Vegas-based automotive lifestyle community founded by Cody Warren and Antwan Webb. It was created to bring together car enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and creatives.
The group focuses on building experiences that go far beyond the typical car meet, blending car culture with music, art, nightlife, and networking into one environment.

DRVN AFTR DRK is a clear example of this. It brings together engines and music in one space, living up to the slogan, “Where RPMs meet BPMs.” The event takes place monthly at Area15 and has become one of the club’s signature experiences.
To support Sung Kang’s appearance, the event also brought out local car enthusiasts to show off their rides.
Rare vehicles, including Mark IV Toyota Supras, Nissan R34 & R32 Skylines, and even a replica of Han’s VeilSide Mazda RX-7 from Tokyo Drift, were present for fans to enjoy.

The presence of these cars added a deeper layer to the experience, bridging his film work with real-world car culture in a way fans could physically connect with.
A Community Built Around Cars and Culture
DRVN AFTR DRK continues to grow as a center for car culture in Las Vegas, bringing together people from all corners of the scene.
The event featured local car brands, apparel companies, and enthusiasts who all shared a passion for automotive lifestyle.
From custom builds to streetwear and creative expression, the environment reflected a strong sense of community.
Sung Kang’s presence added to that energy and showed how film and real-world car culture can come together in a meaningful way. Events like this highlight how the automotive scene is evolving while staying true to its roots.
