Toyota Unveils the GR GT, GR GT3, and Lexus LFA Concept

Toyota GR GT

The wraps are off as Toyota shows the world the GR GT and the GR GT3. The brand also lifted the curtain on a striking new Lexus LFA Concept. The reveal confirms the rumors while raising new questions about what comes next.

The GR GT Steps Into the Spotlight

The GR GT sits at the top of Toyota’s 2027 performance halo car lineup. It follows the spirit of the Toyota 2000GT and the Lexus LFA.

Toyota also revealed the GR GT3. This model is built for FIA GT3 racing. The road car is the GR GT. The luxury version is the Lexus LFA Concept.

The GR GT uses a new hybrid twin turbo V8. The frame is made from lightweight aluminum and reinforced with carbon in key areas.

The team shaped the aerodynamics before the exterior. This reverse design process allowed engineers to chase cooling and downforce from the start.

Drivers played a major role in the development. Master Driver Morizo and four other professional drivers pushed the car on track.

Engineers studied each lap and shaped the car to match the intent of the drivers. A low center of gravity was also a key goal. The team lowered components to keep the driver and the mass of the car almost level.

The GR GT’s Specs, Power, and Purpose

The GR GT draws inspiration from the Toyota 2000GT and the Lexus LFA. The shape is low, wide, and sharp. Total height is under 47 inches.

The GR GT3 removes the hybrid system. It keeps the V8 but focuses only on racing use. It will compete in FIA GT3 events.

The exterior looks sharper and more aggressive than the road model. Large vents, wider fenders, and a full racing wing set it apart.

The car rides on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Sizes are 265/35ZR-20 in the front and 325/30SR-20 in the rear.

Aerodynamic panels cover the body. The hood uses three vents to improve airflow. The rear features a quad exit exhaust.

Cooling ducts and drilled rotors sit behind a large Gazoo Racing brake setup. The powertrain connects to a new eight speed automatic transmission.

The motor and gearbox sit in a rear transaxle. The chassis uses a front engine and rear drive layout. Carbon fiber panels reduce weight.

Rumors suggest a price as low as $120,000 to as high of $500,000, but nothing is confirmed yet.

Inside The GR GT

The cabin is simple and focused. It uses red leather and red alcantara. The upper dash is wrapped in alcantara.

A large monitor sits in the center console. Two Recaro racing seats fill the cabin. Physical buttons and dials control the main functions.

The interior keeps the driver focused with clean lines and minimal distractions.

A Car Born From Toyota’s Shikinen Sengu Spirit

The GR GT follows Toyota’s idea of “Shikinen Sengu.” This tradition focuses on renewal and passing skills to the next generation.

Veteran LFA builders worked with new engineers to shape the car. Their shared goal was to protect core craftsmanship while adding new technology.

Drivers and engineers moved as one team. They shaped the car’s feel, sound, and control around a driver first philosophy.

The GR GT stands as the newest link in a line that began with the 2000GT and continued with the LFA. The car now carries that legacy forward with a new generation of performance.
