The future looks electric at Acura. Engineers are cooking up something striking and seriously high-tech and bringing back an old icon like the RSX.
Acura’s RSX Revival Sparks an Electric Comeback
Acura’s latest project doesn’t come out of nowhere. It channels the bold design and attitude of the Acura Performance EV Concept, first shown in 2024, previewing the brand’s vision for future electric sports cars.
The new RSX carries that same DNA, translating aggressive styling into a practical, road-ready SUV. Finished in a captivating Propulsion Yellow Pearl, the RSX Prototype is turning heads and making its public debut during Monterey Car Week.
The production RSX will be the first model engineered entirely in-house on Honda’s new global EV platform. It’s also the first EV to be produced at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio, on a flexible production line that also builds the Acura Integra.
That line can handle internal combustion, hybrid, and battery electric vehicles with minimal retooling, reflecting Acura’s flexible manufacturing approach.
The RSX will accelerate Acura into the Software Defined Vehicle era, introducing ASIMO OS. This smart, global operating system manages everything from infotainment to advanced driver assistance while learning driver preferences through machine learning.

The RSX Prototype features dual-motor all-wheel drive and a sport-tuned double wishbone front suspension for sharper handling and responsive agility.
Large 21-inch multi-spoke wheels hide bright red Brembo brake calipers, emphasizing performance. The fastback roofline, flared wheel wells, flush door handles, and integrated ducktail-style rear spoiler enhance aerodynamics while giving the RSX a modern, athletic stance.
The front fascia evolves Acura’s Diamond Pentagon design language with separated headlights and slim daytime running lights, while the rear sports a full-width taillight paying homage to the second-generation NSX.

The RSX is expected to arrive in the second half of 2026. Production will take place at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio using both domestic and globally made parts.

Why This Move Isn’t Totally Out of Left Field
