HKS Rings In New Year With Price Increase

HKS Rings In New Year With Price Increase

HKS, the legendary aftermarket company, is known for shaking up the world for its performance parts, but now its latest updates could change how fans build their JDM cars.

New Year, New Price For HKS

HKS will be raising prices on many of its high-performance parts starting January 1, 2026.

The company cited rising costs of raw materials, energy, and tariffs as the primary reasons for the adjustments. While production efficiencies and cost-cutting measures have been applied, HKS stated it is no longer possible to maintain current prices for most products.

Some U.S. retailers are still honoring old prices ahead of the increase. The price revision affects a wide range of HKS parts including turbo kits, exhausts, and suspension components, though not all items are affected.

Customers are encouraged to check the new price list before purchasing parts for their JDM vehicle.

U.S. Tariff Reduction on Japanese Imports

The United States has reduced the tariff on Japanese goods from 27.5% to 15% following an executive order signed by President Donald Trump that took effect on Sept. 4.

Previously, Japanese vehicles and auto parts entering the U.S. were subject to a combination of standard tariffs and additional tariffs totaling a whopping 27.5%.

Under the new agreement, Japanese automotive products now face a flat 15% tariff, which includes Most Favored Nation ‘MFN’ rates.

Certain Japanese products like aircraft and some metals are exempt from the highest tariffs, but the new rate applies broadly to cars, parts, and other performance goods.

This adjustment helps reduce some of the costs of importing Japanese parts while maintaining trade oversight and investment commitments between the two countries.

A Commitment To Quality For HKS

Since HKS manufactures the majority of its products in Japan, the company remains subject to U.S. import tariffs.

Its U.S. offices in Arizona and Texas focus on distribution, design, and customer service, but the parts themselves are produced under strict quality control in Japan.

Despite the new tariffs and price increases, HKS continues to uphold its reputation for high-quality, high-performance parts.

Enthusiasts can still rely on HKS for premium parts that enhance JDM builds without compromise in performance or engineering standards.
