For three decades, one JDM wheel design has remained a constant in both street builds and serious motorsports. Now, that legacy is being honored with the TE37 30th anniversary wheels.
These new TE37 models represent how RAYS Wheels has balanced tradition with modern manufacturing techniques while still honoring its history.
Inside RAYS’ 30th Anniversary Release of the TE37
RAYS Wheels is officially celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Volk Racing TE37, one of the most recognizable forged wheels in the performance world.
The company has introduced special TE37 30th anniversary versions of three models: the TE37 SAGA S-plus, the TE37 SONIC, and the TE37ultra Large P.C.D.

Each of these wheels has been updated with unique design elements that honor the original TE37 while using modern manufacturing technology.
The TE37 30th Anniversary editions feature special engraved logos that represent three decades of development and innovation. A “30th Anniversary” marking is engraved directly into the flange on certain versions, giving the wheel a permanent and subtle tribute to its history.
Other versions feature exclusive anniversary stickers, allowing buyers to choose between a clean, engraved look and a classic, stickered finish.
All three anniversary models are offered in two signature colors: Bronze (Almite) and White. The Bronze wheels come with black anniversary stickers, while the White wheels feature blue stickers inspired by early TE37 designs.
Buyers can choose between stickered versions or fully machined versions, where the anniversary branding is etched into the wheel itself rather than applied on top.
Each set also includes a special limited-edition carbon-fiber style box sticker with the 30th Anniversary logo. This extra detail is meant to highlight the collectible nature of these wheels and their place in TE37 history.
The anniversary wheels are currently available through authorized RAYS Wheels vendors. Pricing varies based on size, width, and diameter, but most full sets range from around $3,500 to over $5,000.
RAYS Wheels has also confirmed that the TE37 30th anniversary campaign will continue with additional projects and releases over time. More details are expected as the celebration moves forward.
The Story Behind the TE37
The Volk Racing TE37 was first introduced in 1996 as a forged wheel built for serious performance. From the beginning, its goal was simple: be as light as possible while remaining strong enough for racing and aggressive street use.
That philosophy helped it quickly gain respect in both professional motorsports and enthusiast communities. The name TE37 stands for Touring Evolution, and the number “37” comes from the original wheel’s weight of 3.7kg.
Early 15-inch versions weighed around 3.7 kilograms. At the time, this was almost unheard of for a wheel strong enough for competition use. This balance of low weight and high strength became the foundation of the TE37’s reputation.

Over the years, the TE37 expanded into many different versions. These included limited editions like the LE37, Tokyo Time Attack, and the heavy-duty Large P.C.D. models for trucks and SUVs. Each version was created to meet specific needs while keeping the same six-spoke design and forged construction.
Throughout its history, the TE37 has appeared in major racing series, time attack events, drift competitions, and daily-driven street cars.

It became a symbol of serious performance and clean styling, especially within Japanese car culture. Many builders and racers chose the TE37 not for trends, but because it consistently delivered reliability and results.
The TE37 30th anniversary models are a reflection of that long journey. They connect the earliest lightweight forged wheels to today’s advanced engineering.
It is a cornerstone of JDM and motorsports culture, built on consistency, performance, and respect earned on tracks and streets around the world.
