Japan’s legendary drifting scene has long been one of the most difficult motorsport experiences for tourists to access. Now, Uber is changing that with a new limited-time experience that puts visitors directly into the passenger seat of professional drift cars.

Uber Launches Uber Drift Experience in Japan

Uber has officially launched Uber Drift in Tokyo as part of its global “Go Anywhere” series. The experience gives travelers a rare opportunity to experience Japanese drifting without needing local connections or insider knowledge.

Guests are picked up directly from their hotel in Tokyo using Uber Black before being transported to Mobara Twin Circuit.

The track is well known within Japan’s drifting community thanks to its technical layout and challenging corners. Once at the circuit, participants are paired with Formula Drift licensed professionals for an adrenaline-filled ride.

The experience features two iconic Japanese drift cars, the Nissan Silvia S15 and the Nissan 180SX. Guests are strapped in the passenger seat while Formula Drift licensed professionals unleash high-speed tandem drifts around the track.

The tandem drift sessions feature both cars attacking corners sideways while maintaining an incredibly tight gap, creating an adrenaline-fueled spectacle of speed and skill. Safety equipment, including helmets, is required, but the focus remains on delivering an authentic track experience.

Uber Drift track sessions last approximately 90 minutes. Drivers reach high speeds while demonstrating the precision and car control that have made Japanese drifting famous around the world.

The price is set at ¥30,000 per group, about $200 USD, with groups consisting of up to four people. Uber Drift reservations are made directly through the Uber app.
